Discovery
As you can see, asking questions is a large part of what makes us a very unique practice. When you first call, we want to make sure that we are a good fit for each other. There are many choices out there, and our goal is to make certain that you feel comfortable with our style. Our careful questions set us apart and help to ensure the best possible solution for you
The questions we ask are an important part of our policy of “No Surprises,” which is simply to make very sure that you know at all times what to expect and what will happen next.
Consultation
When you decide to come in for a consultation, Doctor Ali will ask you a lot of questions and discuss any issues you may have. The purpose of this consultation is to discover your biggest concerns. He also wants you to ask him all the questions you may have and he will take the time to answer your questions until you feel confident with your choices. These may be centered around your appearance, pain management, risk, recovery time or other concerns you may have.
Doctor Ali will then design a solution that solves your biggest concerns with the correct procedure, finely tuned to provide the very best possible outcome for you.
Please note that there are some procedures that Doctor Ali will not perform due to the high risk associated with them. Some physicians will perform certain types of “scarless” procedures that can actually be extremely dangerous to you. He will never plan any procedure for you that he would not recommend for a member of his own family.
Doctor Ali feels that the consultation is a critical part of the process and he takes it very seriously. That is why he will spend more time on this portion than many others and it is also why he charges a fee for this consultation. At the end of this consultation, you will truly know the safest and best choice for you.
Doctor Ali welcomes anyone else involved in helping you to decide about your procedure to attend this consultation. He suggests that they come with you at the time you are trying to make a decision in order that he may help answer any questions they may have.
The Procedure
All patients undergoing surgery are seen the day before surgery and markings are performed in a relaxed environment. These markings are a crucial part of Doctor Ali’s operative plan. At this stage, it is important for the doctor to have a good sense of aesthetics. For the convenience of our patients, appropriate prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medication are also given during this visit. The operative plan is reviewed and discussed in order to avoid any misunderstanding or unrealistic expectations.
General anesthesia is preferred for all our patients. This allows Doctor Ali to perform his delicate work in a well controlled, pain-free environment. Doctor Ali performs these surgeries at Unasource Surgery Center, in Troy, one of the finest surgical facilities in southeast Michigan. Doctor Ali also performs breast enhancement surgeries at William Beaumont Troy and St. Joseph Oakland Hospitals. A dedicated team handpicked by Doctor Ali helps to smooth the progression of events during surgery.
The patients are discharged home the day of surgery once they are fully awake and can tolerate oral intake. Because of all the precautions taken during the surgical procedure, Doctor Ali’s patients are pleasantly surprised with the little discomfort they feel after the surgery. A supportive, but comfortable, bra is provided to all the patients after breast enhancement surgery.
Follow-up
Doctor Ali examines all breast enhancement patients the following day to ensure that healing is progressing as expected. This helps in early detection of any post operative complication which can then be addressed immediately. This examination is very important to prevent potentially irreversible damage to tissues. Following the first visit, patients are seen after one week, six weeks and six months. By this time, healing is complete and the breasts have settled to their final shape.
